We rent a satellite connection to the internet which is connected via a dish on the roof of the Castle Hotel (many thanks to Dave & Nicky Simpson for putting up with this). The service is then distributed around the town using low powered radio relay points situated on The Boars Head, The Grange, Oak Meadow, Beech House and The Wintles.

Users need an aerial on their roof which points at one of these relay points (or The Castle Hotel) in order to receive service.

In addition to the aerial we also provide you with a little white box (which needs to be less than 10m from the aerial and next to a power socket) into which a cable can be plugged from your PC.

Your PC connects to our network as if it were in an office, it therefore needs a network connection (called an ethernet). If you PC is reasonably new it will have one (look for a socket in the back which is like a telephone socket but about 30% bigger). If you don’t have one don’t worry - ethernet cards can be bought for about £10 - £15.
